Bauske's work resides in the space between dreams, reality and memory.

Bauske lives and works in San Francisco.

From the series The Sewing Machine and the Umbrella

Night photography is another language- it is a different spacial plane- a different consideration of time- I see it as a hyperbolic reality- by framing isolated areas of light and darkness- it contains the subject whilst simultaneously proposing an infinite in black. It's this relationship that is surreal in subtlety- the person or the object and its stance with darkness proposes a multitude of questions.

Lindus was born in Paris, France and currently resides in Samos, Greece.

"Helpless"

Rosean "used to be terribly afraid of the darkness and thus, spent most of [her] nights indoors"..." illustrating the night and its associated horrors has helped [her] cope with the darkness."

Forrest's medium format work "turns a mirror towards the viewer" in order to disengage the audience from the identity of the woman, instead demanding focus on her performative presence and power to manipulate the landscape.

See more of Julia Forrest's work here.

Talley's series confronts the "disturbing images and perversities" suppressed by our culture and thereby often exposed only in our dreams.

"Mad Eyes"

"Over three and one half years I have spent alone amidst these 8 rooms, 7 mirrors, 6 clocks, 2 minds and 199 panes of glass. And this is what I saw here. This is what I learned...."

"I began to break time down.

Smaller and smaller parcels are easier to digest, easier to recognize, easier to bear.

This would be the math:

4 birthdays

3 + 1/2 years

42 months

1307 days (taking into account the leap year)

1,882,080 minutes

112,924,800 seconds..."

"I figure it could go one of two ways- I will either capture my ascension from madness to as much a level of sanity for which one of my composition could hope, or I will leave a document of it all, in the case that I should lose."

See more of Lauren E. Simonutti's work here.

From the series Darling if You Only Knew

"Of all the places that I experience in my day to day, many are beyond a place where one can physically venture to. It is through my daily routines and practices that these environments have materialized and come into being, literally and conceptually. They were created as a means to bridge a gap, to tell a bit about myself; where I travel to at times, sprite-like and fanciful in nature. Darling if you only knew all the things that float through my mind,

[so many] sweet sweet fantasies."

SHAYNA LEAH

"In my dreams he lurks: on open roads, at the water hole, the barber shop, the ice cream stand, in the gardens. He exists in the shadows, behind open doors, in the tall grass, a driver passing by. I cannot make out his face, always obscured. If only I could make out his face, I might begin to shake him from my mind..."

"Estirpe" from the |eks| series

I am interested in exploring one of the primary inhibitors to my sleep: cancer. Four years ago, my father was diagnosed with cancer. The fact that I am both far away from home, and that cancer is a synonymous with having an expiration date, has made my head spin day and night.

Using x-ray images, Chiriboga explores the ubiquity of cancer by making the “'invisible visible... [to] express the continuous presence of the past contained within us'” as David Maisel wrote.

"Fly" from The Dream series.

Giedrojc's subject exists in discomfort and alienation.

The artist explains that each "person is isolated from reality with the imaginary world around [her]," thus posing the question: whose dream are we really glimpsing and is it a dream at all?

"Cone"

Smithson is a Brooklyn based multimedia artist whose work explores "various dimensions of queerness, identity, gender, eroticism, self-expression, biology, history, beauty, shock, fear, and love."

Berez's images are rife with exuberance and glee expressive of the night's comedic obscurity.

See more of Randi Berez's work here.

"Hanging Redhead", from the series Delirium Constructions.

Small's series explores "disassociated themes and characters brought together into the same space...[to] examine the social and graphic contrasts of youth and experience, hysteria and discipline, tragedy and hilarity, and sexuality and desexualization."

Adapting to our changing landscapes is a fear that we have, and as a population, must face. Justin StGermain's images represent the destruction that climate change has on our planet and the overwhelming necessity for us to reframe our view of the world using light to isolate and identify our transforming surroundings. Through long exposures, StGermain erases context, modifies the landscape, and emphasizes the demand for humans to critically modify their own perception of and relationship with the land.
